REVIEWS FROM AMAZON...

MUM OF BOYS – 18th August 2019

Hilarious! Everyone will love it!

I can’t recommend this book enough! It is sooo funny! I was laughing so hard reading it with my son that I couldn’t read my part! My 8 year old loved it. My 5 year old was even obsessed with it! They put aside the 130 Storey Treehouse for this after reading all of the others back to back! They usually only read books with pictures but this was so funny they didn’t care. Perfect for fans of Dahl and Walliam’s! Just be prepared for the inevitable moment when the kids ask to make the brain booster juice!

MIA – 19th August 2019

Amazing!

Amazing book! My boy loved reading this. Would definitely recommend!

DI – 20th August 2019

A very funny, clever, well crafted book.

What a lovely well-crafted book. It was a delightful philosophical journey full of honesty, morality and truth. On the surface this book is about a boy who can communicate with aliens, and yet, somehow it is totally believable. It really made me laugh out loud, and at times its poignancy was profoundly moving. It is full of fantastic facts and information that those brightest 8-year olds will absolutely lap up.

PAUL – 20th August 2019

Very funny

Read this to my 8yr old son. He really enjoyed it and found it very funny. 😂
Can’t wait for more from this author.

BIG R – 19th August 2019

CLARE E – 20th August 2019

Great read for kids (and grown ups too!)

Really lovely book with a thoughtful message, lots of laughs along the way! 11 and 8yr old loved it, as did parents.

READER AGE 10 – 20th August 2019

Great funny book

I really enjoyed this book and it was really funny. I would recommend it for ages 7-12.

ROSEMARY HART – 21st August 2019

A refreshing change from fairies and football

A breath of fresh air! I really enjoyed reading this with my nephew. He really liked the worms! It’s hard to find books that appeal to boys and girls as so many seem to include fairies, unicorns and ballet dancers or football.

CHOCO CAT – 21st August 2019

A rip-roaring tale! Perfect for 8-12 year olds

It was exciting to read and full of interesting twists and turns. Billy is a likeable character who is kind to his fellow pupils, although he suffers bullying and mockery, with his only friends being the worms in the garden. As he discovers his amazing brain booster juice the story races on with many lively and vivid characters entering the fray. A child who reads this will expand their vocabulary, learn some interesting facts and be entertained richly. An adult who reads it out loud will have great fun with lots of different accents and lively characters.

SUSAN – 27th August 2019

Great descriptions throughout

I enjoyed reading it very much. I thought it very cleverly written with great imagination.

SARAH – 27th August 2019

Really fun book tackling bullying

This book kept me entertained throughout, the detailed descriptions and wide use of language gave me a really clear picture of what was going on and kept me engaged in the story. I would really recommend reading this book a very uplifting and funny story.

HJ WOODWARD – 28th August 2019

Wonderful from start to finish

A wonderful, insightful, poignant, funny, uplifting and easy read. By ‘easy’, I mean the words jump effortlessly off the page…trickle into your subconscious and make the pages turn one after the other. I read this book to see if it would be suitable for a 9 year old, but I’m not ashamed to say I enjoyed it myself…and I’m 41 (allegedly). I have no doubt children will love it. Would strongly recommend.

MRS DEBBIE DRY- 9th September 2019

VICTORIA – 17th October 2020

A modern day twist on George’s Marvellous Medicine

This is a really funny read set mostly at school – my son is 9yrs old and really enjoyed it! The classic happy ending of school bullies being overcome by the less popular kid – who in this case, fully appreciates that he isn’t the sharpest tool in the box, but that’s ok! A surprise visitor from outer space thrown in to the mix, a character who is so well-travelled she switches between different accents – always fun to read out loud and have a go at them! Highly recommended read. Check out the storyquest books by the same author too!!

AREK – 6th November 2020

Laughing out loud!

My 10-year-old loves this book. I laughed out loud several times, too.

ANNA- 18TH MARCH 2020

Amazing, funny, brilliant

I loved it so much. I laughed a lot and I think it was needed. I hope this book will give a boost to all the children who think they are worse than others. The intelligence comes from the heart. I would highly recommend it

    Hello, Harry,

I’m so pleased to hear you enjoyed reading Billy’s Brain Booster Juice. It was really good fun to write and Billy is definitely my favourite character too. I think Mrs La Monde was the most exciting character to create, as you never know what accent she’s going to use next!

Perhaps you could try drawing a picture of your favourite Billy’s Brain Booster Juice character – I would love to see it if you did! If you choose Mrs Granger, don’t forget to draw her wobbly chin-skin!

Thank you so much for your review, Harry.

    Very best wishes,

  3. Jessica age 10

This book is amazing there are cliff hangers and excitement at the end of every chapter.

  4. Becci Murray

    Hi Jessica,

It’s lovely to hear you enjoyed reading Billy’s Brain Booster Juice so much and you liked the cliff hangers at the end of each chapter. When I was younger (which is almost a gazillion years ago now), I loved to read books with exciting chapter endings. They made me want to keep reading, to find out what happened next, and sometimes I would read a whole book in one day.

If you enjoyed this book, you might also like George’s Marvellous Medicine. It was written by the legendary Roald Dahl and it tells the story of a boy called George, who creates a mixture to cure his grandma of her hasty habits. It’s such a funny book and it was one of my favourites when I was a child.

Thank you so much for your review, Jessica, and for reading Billy’s Brain Booster Juice.

    Vest best wishes,

    Becci Murray

  5. Charlie

    Hello, Charlie!

Wow, it’s amazing that you read Billy’s Brain Booster Juice in only two days – well done! I’m so pleased to hear you found the book funny. I love creating characters who make readers laugh and this book in particular was a LOT of fun to write.

I think Billy teaching the bullies a lesson might be my favourite part of the book. I especially enjoyed how Robert Williams got his comeuppance and I hope he learnt a lesson about being kind to others.

Thank you so much for your review, Charlie. I absolutely love hearing from my readers, so I really enjoyed reading your comments.

    Very best wishes,

    Becci Murray

  7. Tadhg

Hi Becci, I loved the book. My favourite character was Mrs. La Monde I thought she was hilarious!

  8. Becci Murray

    Hi there,

Thanks so much for reading Billy’s Brain Booster Juice – I’m really pleased to hear you enjoyed it!

Mrs La Monde is one of my favourite characters from the book too. She’s going to be a tricky person to narrate in the audio-book though, because of how often she changes her accent! I really enjoy writing characters who are a little bit crazy and Mrs LaMonde is about as crazy as they come, so she was a lot of fun to create.

Thank you for posting a comment on the Llama House Books website – it’s always great to hear from readers!

    Best wishes,

    Becci

Hi Becci, I really enjoyed reading Billy’s brain boosting juice. It really made me giggle, I liked Yan because she was quite funny and made it seen like Billy was being stupid.
I am now going to look for your other books to read.

    Hi Willow,

Thank you so much for your message. I’m really pleased to hear you enjoyed reading Billy’s Brain Booster Juice.

I loved writing about Yan. It was so much fun to think about what she might look like and how she might speak. Imagine how cool it would be to have a friend like Yan, especially one who could make Brain Booster Juice!

I hope you can enjoy reading some of my other books soon and thank you again for your message.

    Happy reading,
