Becci Murray is a children’s author who is not a celebrity. She has never been on the telly, she’s not in a band and she has no plans to marry a prince (not yet anyway). She used to run a children’s entertainment company, where she earned a living playing musical bumps and doing the Hokey Cokey (true story). In 2018, Becci entered a BBC Writersroom competition and subsequently worked on the ad hoc writers’ team for CBBC programme Class Dismissed, where a character she created was featured on the show.

Becci’s writing is heavily influenced by her passion for children’s literature. Her favourite books are by the marvellous Roald Dahl, the phenomenal Philip Pullman and the legendary Sir Terry Pratchett. She is currently working on a series of early reader chapter books called Unicorn Island, along with expanding her bestselling Granny’s Blunders picture book series.
